Welcome to Supasplit ("we", "our", or "us"). Supasplit is a mobile application that helps you split expenses with friends and groups. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our app and related services. We collect the following types of information when you use Supasplit:

Account Information

• Name and email address — provided when you create an account via email or social login (Google, Apple).
• Profile photo — optionally uploaded by you to personalize your account.
• Authentication data — credentials and tokens managed by our authentication provider to keep your account secure.

App Usage Data

• Expense data — amounts, descriptions, and group information you enter for splitting purposes. Supasplit only tracks who owes what; we do not process real money transfers.
• Camera and photos — accessed only when you choose to scan receipts or upload images. We do not access your camera or photo library without your permission.

Automatically Collected Data

• Device information — device type, operating system, and app version.
• Analytics and crash reports — anonymized usage patterns and error logs to help us improve the app.
• Push notification tokens — used to send you relevant notifications about your expenses and groups.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and maintain the expense-splitting functionality of the app.
• Authenticate your identity and secure your account.
• Send push notifications about expense updates, settlements, and group activity.

4. Third-Party Services

Supasplit relies on the following third-party services to operate. Each service has its own privacy policy governing how it handles your data:

• Supabase — authentication and database hosting.
• Expo / EAS — app building, updates, and push notification delivery.
• Sentry — error tracking and crash reporting.
• Analytics provider — anonymized usage analytics to understand how the app is used.
• Push notification services (Firebase Cloud Messaging, Apple Push Notification service) — delivering notifications to your device.

We do not sell your personal information to any third party. We share data with third-party services only as necessary to provide and improve Supasplit.

5. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information, including encryption in transit (TLS/SSL) and secure storage practices via our infrastructure providers. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our services. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal obligations.
